About the Reading - Card of the Day - A Single Card

Overview

Draw one card from the Tarot deck for a spontaneous look into what the next 24-hours holds for you.

Uses

The Card of the Day provides a vantage point for understanding daily occurrences as well as an image to meditate on in relation to your mood.

How it Works

The Card of the Day interpretation is written in a familiar and reflective tone. It covers everything from symbols on the card to historical significance and personal indications for your life.

Select a single card from the deck. Once you choose your card, the interpretation will appear. Each interpretation is thorough and runs about three to four paragraphs long.

Analysis of each card turns its image into a story that you can follow along with. You will uncover the various forces that are at play and leave with an idea about how you can work with those forces within your own life.

Each card has positive and negative indications, but overall you will find each analysis is life-affirming and filled with positivity.

The card images and meanings create a lens through which you can explore each day. Additionally, the card may help you practice self-control as you meet daily challenges regarding work, communication, health, finances, and relationships.

Charmaine’s Take

You might think of each card as a guide, asking you to reconsider what you generally overlook on a daily basis. At the same time, drawing the daily card can help you determine then mitigate a behavior that, on second thought, may be creating disruptions in your life.

Additionally, since humans naturally focus on the negative as a survival instinct, a daily card can reorient you toward what is good and bountiful.

If you harbor anxiety, cards point to tools you can use to dispel it. Also, the card shifts focus onto talents that may be latent in you and can help you succeed despite obstacles.

This is a reading I use when I do not have a particular question in mind. The Card of the Day gives a framework or schema for anything I might encounter in a day, and I find it both relaxing and encouraging.

In another way, each card is like a dream filling you in on what lives just below the surface in your daily experiences and asking you not to take anything for granted.

5 Tips for a Reflexive Reading

Consider that each card is an allegory for your own life. An allegory is a story with indications beyond the literal meaning. Here are some questions to ask yourself to determine what the allegory of each card represents for your day -

  1. Who might the character(s) in this card represent? Pay attention to this person today.

  2. What is the attitude of the character(s) in the card? Act in accordance with this knowledge in your communications with this person.

  3. What is in the foreground? This is something you should address today.

  4. What is in the card’s background? Make sure to address any underlying matters because procrastination could create unforeseen issues.

  5. How does the action in the card relate to your tasks and activities today? Is there anything in your schedule you might rearrange to better suit your emotional needs?
