Talking to your psychic is a magical and also vulnerable experience whether it is your first time or your hundredth. I want to share with you my thoughts on what to talk with your psychic about including what questions to ask. There is no one way to do it, but most importantly, let the conversation unfold organically and have compassion for yourself in the process - may your journey be thorough and long-lasting!
Here are some Reading Specific Conversation Starters and Questions
Here are some ideas for starting a conversation with and questions to ask your psychic based on the type of reading you are receiving:
I hope that you find what you are looking for in your reading! Of course, psychic readings are just one avenue to access the answers you want, but you are the one in charge of your life. It is important to seek counsel from within and also from your broader community, from a range of people you trust whose advice you can use to ultimately make your own dynamic decisions. You are courageous and I believe in you. I hope that you can use your psychic reading to illuminate answers from within.
Prepare: Jot down what you want to discuss
While you can go into a psychic reading blind and still have a unique experience, research suggests that doing a bit of preparation helps keep your reading focused.
For example, when you visit a doctor writing down your questions for them is helpful. In that moment at the doctor’s office, under the bright lights, it is easy to forget what you wanted to say.
Similarly, in a psychic reading it is easy to let nervousness or happy anticipation sweep your mind blank! This is an exciting and rare meeting! Jot down your thoughts, topics you want to cover, including your questions for a psychic before you get on your phone call.
Note-taking: Take notes during your reading
As your reading continues, more questions and thoughts may arise for you! You can take notes during your call to keep track, or save your notes for another reading in your future.
General Questions: A Platform for Getting Personal
Now I want to talk about what kind of questions you can ask your psychic. Plenty of blog posts say not to ask yes or no questions. However, I think part of the fun of a psychic reading can be to ask just these questions!
So go ahead and ask yes/no questions like:
Will I get married?
Will I have children?
Am I pregnant?
Will I leave my job?
All these are valid questions and provide a great place to start your reading!
However, from these more general questions just discussed you can get more personal. Some people think they should test their psychic by hiding their feelings and making the psychic guess, but this is not the case. By sharing intimate or personal details with your psychic you give them access to your experience and this improves the accuracy of your reading. Be careful, though, and be mindful about who you are sharing certain details of your life with. Be sure this is someone you trust.
The Non-Question: Having a Conversation with Your Psychic
You do not always have to have a question for your psychic, per se. You can also enter into a more natural conversation with your psychic and together suss out topics to explore. Beyond asking, “should I quit my job,” try revealing something to your psychic. You might say, “I feel unhappy with my work” or “my boss makes me feel small” or “my boyfriend is acting aloof!” You could even tell your psychic about a particular experience you had with someone and how it made you feel.
Then, your psychic can use intuitive powers to talk with you about what cosmic messages have arrived for you based on these experiences. This is a collaborative effort, you see, and one that affirms your power in the universe and in your own life!
Action Oriented Questions: A Big No-no!
It is common to seek advice from a psychic on what to do in a given situation. While a psychic can give you emotional advice, it is dangerous to give anyone too much power over your own life. For example, I have heard people ask a psychic: Should I leave my husband? Should I sell my house? Should I bet on horse #4 or #5?
Instead of asking a psychic such a specific action-oriented question, try giving them a sense of your whole situation. If you want advice on gambling, consider talking with your psychic more broadly about money-matters and any emotions you have connected to money. What is at stake for you if you win and if you lose? What could horse #4 represent for you on a larger scale.
